Rustic Farmhouse Dining : Monday Morning Color Watch #14

I’m often asked about colors palettes for the home and for websites and so I decided to create a series of colors that I hope will inspire you to find colors for your home or blog! As I’m sure you know, colors are very important when it comes to your home and DIY home decor projects; they can make or break a room!  Colors are equally important for your branding and website. Today’s color palette and room decor ideas were inspired by my ideas for a farmhouse dining room.

Welcome to another Monday Morning Color Watch; today it’s all about the dining room.  Y’all there isn’t even a color palette because I’ve always wanted a white dining room!  Now, let’s be realistic for a moment.

Even though I don’t have kids, I have no idea how I would keep an all white dining room spotless, but it’s so pretty!

Please note: Colors may appear different due to your monitor or mobile device color settings.

  • 1st Color: White (hexadecimal code: #ffffff)
  • 2nd Color: Light blue (hexadecimal code: #b1c6cb)

I would have white walls and art that incorporated the white below as shown below. Light wood would be used rather than dark wood to keep the light, rustic feel.  Wood light fixtures bring the room together with the wood table and wood islands on each side of the room.

Can you imagine having beautiful windows to look out at each time you sit down with your family for a meal?  That would be great!

The white, wood and pale blue tones in the art would make me want to eat in this dining room all the time!  What do you think?

How would you incorporate these colors into your dining room or any other room in your home?

See ya later!

I love how you incorporated the blue into your design. Lighter woods are definitely right on trend and look gorgeous in this space you put together. Sophisticated and still welcoming. Well done!

I love the idea of a white dining room! It makes a room so bright and cheerful and you can add pops of color with your dΓ©cor. Thanks for sharing! πŸ™‚

This is exactly my style! I love these colors, and that picture with the windows and mock-up furniture is exactly what I hope my house will look like someday πŸ™‚ I love how these colors interact with natural light, they make everything so bright and clean looking.

The blue is serene and inviting. Those windows would be dreamy and I love the light fixtures you incorporated, stunning!

  • Allie 08/21/2017, 3:29 PM

That blue is totally gorgeous and calming. I would love that in my bathroom. I really like the design of that kitchen, too! So modern!

I love that shade of blue! And I’d love a dining room like that! At the moment we have a tiny area next to our open plan kitchen….. hopefully, one day, who knows ….. πŸ™‚

Those colors look amazing together, I am in the process of painting my interior repose grey and really loving the color, I can’t wait to be able to update other items in my house to reflect the farm house style I really love!!! Living in AZ makes me miss my home state of Texas so much!!!

  • Lisa 08/21/2017, 8:20 PM

Totally different than my home, but I still love this look!

  • Amanda at The Light Owl 08/21/2017, 8:29 PM

So pretty! I love white walls, which is funny because I grew up with white walls and hated them at the time. I just think it looks so crisp and inviting now.

  • Cherryl Ehlenburg 08/21/2017, 8:40 PM

Such a beautiful shade of blue! The two together make the room look so crisp and fresh!

  • Gillian 08/21/2017, 10:52 PM

I have to be honest. I am not crazy about plain white. I love walls with white anaglypta wallpaper though. Texture with the white. That blue is a lovely calm color.

I have zero experience with painting and choosing color for interior decoration, so this series of yours is really interesting to me. I like that shade of blue. Never thought of having it for the dining room before.

  • Jennifer Gainer 08/22/2017, 7:42 AM

Great advice for a farmhouse house lover like myself. πŸ™‚

I just love muted tones like this, they are so relaxing! And yes, I would LOVE to have a bunch of open windows like that in my dining room:)

    • Lynn 08/25/2017, 4:14 PM

Yes, Paula, they are! Windows that looked out onto the beach…even better!

  • D at Be you and thrive 08/25/2017, 10:00 AM

Love the pale blue. My girlfriend painted her dining room that color, the trim was white and it was soft, inviting and gorgeous! xo~D

People tend to overlook muted colors but I think your post here shows exactly why we shouldn’t! Looks amazing!

    • Lynn 08/28/2017, 2:06 PM

Thanks, Jessica. Yes, muted colors do get overlooked. Based on what I’m seeing, I think they are going to be quite popular this year!

  • Kristen 08/26/2017, 7:48 PM

I love white and blue! I’m pretty biased though, because you basically picked the colour my dining room is right now!
