We’re a week out from closing and let me tell ya, my nerves are shot! All of this constant back and forth between our Realtor, the sellers, the mortgage company, and everyone else involved is very time-consuming! I’m thankful I have my own business because I can’t imagine having to take care of all of this if I had a regular 9-5 job right now.
Here’s the house update for today: Thank goodness, the sellers agreed to fix almost all of the repairs needed on the house. However, we’re a week out from closing and still no repairs are done. Last week our Realtor told us the repairs would start this week so fingers crossed! Our options at this point if the repairs aren’t done are to either push closing back until they are complete or move forward with closing and the closing Attorney will keep the money in escrow for repairs. We can’t push back the closing because we have to be out of our apartment the following week-we’d be homeless!

Let me tell ya, I always pray for patience and the Lord is definitely trying to teach me to have some with all of this waiting! It’s like being on a roller coaster. You’re happy the sellers accepted your offer which is a high. You find out the repairs must be made before you can purchase the home and the sellers don’t want to fix them so you’re back to a low (the VA requires some things aren’t required with conventional loans so some things MUST be fixed or we have to walk away).
You’re back on a high when the sellers finally agree to the fix the repairs but now back to a low because we close next week and no repairs are done. Our Realtor keeps assuring me everything will be done before closing so I’m going to have to keep my fingers crossed and pray he is right!
The apartment is almost all packed up, but I still don’t know how we’ve crammed all of our stuff into this 2-bedroom apartment. Well, it’s not ALL of our things because we also had to get a storage unit, but there is still a lot here!
I’m hoping next week’s update will offer good news. Wish me luck!
