Colors For a Sports Lover’s Bathroom: Monday Morning Color Watch #7

I’m often asked about colors palettes for the home and for websites and so I decided to create a series of colors that I hope will inspire you to find colors for your home or blog! As I’m sure you know, colors are very important when it comes to your home and DIY home decor projects; they can make or break a room!  Colors are equally important for your branding and website. Today I’m sharing colors for a sports lover’s bathroom inspired by the 4th of July and my husband’s bathroom.

Being that he is from Washington, DC, my husband is a HUGE Washington fan.  With the exception of the Redskins (football team), all of the Washington teams have the colors of red, white and blue; the Capitals (hockey), the Wizards (basketball), and the Nationals (baseball).

When we bought our house, the deal was that the shed, the garage, and the 3rd floor were E’s to do and decorate as he pleased, within reason of course.  Well, on the 3rd floor, because of his love of these teams, he painted the guest bathroom on the 3rd floor…yep, you guessed it; red, white, and blue!

I wasn’t too excited, but what was I going to do?  A deal is a deal and the painting of the bathroom with these colors looks good!

Please note: Colors may appear different due to your monitor or mobile device color settings.

Colors for a Sports Lover’s Bathroom

Let me share with you what E did with this bathroom.  He painted the room blue.  He painted a wide, red stripe across the top of the walls and the sink and vanity in the room are white.

He even went so far as to find a bathmat that says Man Cave in red, white, and blue, and has the Washington Capitals on it

He’s still working on that bathroom.  I’ll share the room reveal when it’s ready!

Using this color palette for your website

The thing I love about this color palette is its simplicity.  To use this color palette for a website, I would have the background white and the red and blue as the accent colors. The blue as the headings, the red as the background for the footer and menu items.

How would you use these colors for your website?  Which colors would you keep? Which would you change?  I’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas in the comments below!

There are no sports lovers in my house 🙁 But my bathroom colors are very subdued shades of blue and white and gray that carry over into the kitchen which is right outside the door. I love your colors though!

What’s E done with the shed & the garage? I’m intrigued. Those are great colours!

Sian, he hasn’t started on the garage just yet. The garage walls have been painted, but the floor still needs to be finished. Between our wedding and several other big family functions, we’ve been out of town a lot. I’ll let you know as soon. as we start the big projects again on the garage and the shed. Thanks so much for reading!

How fun! I’m tying this comment as my son is obsessing over old football games on youtube. He would love a sports themed bathroom! #HomeMattersParty

Your son sounds like my husband. He watches those old football games too. Hahaha…we should get them together so they can watch the games and we can go decor shopping! Thanks for reading, Melissa!

My boys would love it if I’d let them paint their room in their favorite team colors. This is a great idea for sports fans! #HomeMattersParty

My dad is an OSU Buckeye fan, in one of my parent’s houses he painted a bathroom gray with a scarlet accent wall and then decorated with all his OSU stuff. It was fun! #HomeMattersParty

Oh, what fun! Sounds like a great room, Emily!
