Colors For a Farmhouse Kitchen: Monday Morning Color Watch #6

I’m often asked about colors palettes for the home and for websites and so I decided to create a series of colors that I hope will inspire you to find colors for your home or blog! As I’m sure you know, colors are very important when it comes to your home and DIY home decor projects; they can make or break a room!  Colors are equally important for your branding and website. Today I want to share with you colors for a farmhouse kitchen.

This color palette for home and websites was inspired by my love of blue.  As much as I love bold and vibrant colors, baby blue is my favorite color!

Please note: Colors may appear different due to your monitor or mobile device color settings.

  • 1st color: Blue-gray (hexadecimal code: #767b91)
  • 2nd color: Navy (hexadecimal code: #2a324b)
  • 3rd color: Peach (hexadecimal code: #f7c59f)
  • 4th color: Light gray (hexadecimal code: #c7ccdb)

Colors for a Farmhouse Kitchen

If you pay attention to home decor and design even just a little bit, you know all things farmhouse are the rage.  I love the look as well and if I can talk E into knocking out a couple of walls, I plan to have my farmhouse kitchen too!  I mean who couldn’t use a big farmhouse sink and a pot filler?

I’d use the lighter color for the walls to keep the room feeling open and light.  I’d have the blue-gray as the color of the kitchen cabinets.  This color reminds me of the color of the walls in my house currently and I think it’d be cool and different for kitchen cabinets.

The navy and peach would be the accent and colors used for the decor around the room.  This kitchen would definitely have chrome fixtures and the pot filler and farmhouse kitchen would be the first things I got (probably not, but it makes me happy to think I would!

How would you use these colors in your house?  Share in the comments below!

Using this color palette for your website

For a website, I would use the navy for all headings with the peach as an underline under the titles such as the widget (sidebar) titles and as a line under the menu items when you hover over them.  I’d take the light gray and make a pattern that would be used for the white also so that you still had a minimalistic site, but not so minimalistic that it was boring!

The graphic images for this site would have all of the colors from this color scheme.

How would you use these colors for your website?  Which colors would you keep? Which would you change?  I’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas in the comments below!

See ya later!

Blue is my favourite colour. I love the palette you have chosen, the colours look amazing together

    • Lynn 06/26/2017, 5:51 PM

      Thanks, Kizzy!

  • Bianca Karina 06/26/2017, 4:44 PM

Muted colors are my favorite. They are almost like a neutral and all pair well together when in the same shade. I am really liking that periwinkle grey shade.

    • Lynn 06/26/2017, 5:53 PM

Yes Bianca and they make it easier to decorate or change decor.

  • Jennifer Searcy 06/26/2017, 5:19 PM

Great color palette! We are actually looking at blues similar to this to paint our living room/dining room. I am really digging the blue/gray combo.

    • Lynn 06/26/2017, 5:54 PM

Thanks Jennifer! We used a blue-gray as the main color throughout our house and I just love it! Good luck with painting.

  • rachel 06/27/2017, 8:26 AM

I really like this palette! It’s just enough color, but soothing to the eye — and I’m always a sucker for blues.

    • Lynn 06/27/2017, 3:56 PM

Thanks, Rachel! Me too; blues and greens.

  • Emily 06/27/2017, 9:11 AM

We’re working on our farmhouse kitchen right now πŸ™‚

That sounds great, Emily. Good luck with everything!

  • Nicole 06/27/2017, 10:50 AM

I love how you put your logo on the paint can! Even the roller handle is color coordinated – impressive!

    • Lynn 06/27/2017, 3:55 PM

      Thanks, Nicole! πŸ™‚

  • Olivia Stacey 06/27/2017, 11:33 AM

Fabulous suggestions! Love the color palette you shared. My aunt is repainting her kitchen and she would love these ideas!

      Mine too! πŸ™‚

  • Marissa 06/27/2017, 12:00 PM

I love all the muted grays with a pop of peach. Very subdued but still makes a statement!

    • Lynn 06/27/2017, 3:54 PM

Yes, I think it brightens it up, Marissa.

  • Helene Cohen Bludman 06/27/2017, 3:02 PM

I love the colors in this palette. Peach is a favorite color of mine. I love how it brightens up more neutral tones.

    • Lynn 06/27/2017, 3:53 PM

      Thanks, Helene!

  • Jen Sterbenz 06/27/2017, 3:06 PM

I love blue! Although I have a hard time buying anything peach-colored — I always think it looks a bit too baby pink. I’m about to move apartments and I’ve been thinking about new furniture so color palettes have definitely been on my mind.

    • Lynn 06/27/2017, 3:53 PM

Good luck with the move! Yes, blues are always so calming.

  • Aylin 06/27/2017, 5:19 PM

I love the blue. So, I’ll use the peachy color with light and dark blue. Yay!

    • Lynn 06/28/2017, 5:40 PM

Great, Aylin. Thanks for stopping by!

  • Elise Cohen Ho 06/27/2017, 7:53 PM

I am not a fan of the peach so I am not so sure that I would use them. I am in the midst of a home renovation though and lose seeing different ideas.

    • Lynn 06/28/2017, 5:40 PM

Good luck with the renovation, Elise!

  • Lisa 06/27/2017, 9:05 PM

Very pretty color choices you have put together. Although I love blues and peach is one of my blog colors; we went with neutral paint in our new home. I have not been able to decide on accent paint colors yet, but this gets me motivated to start!

    • Lynn 06/28/2017, 5:40 PM

Thanks, Lisa! I love neutral and bright colors. I try to keep the common areas neutral.

  • Julie 06/27/2017, 10:06 PM

Light blue is my fave color too!! My entire downstairs is actually “glass slipper” by Benjamin Moore and I love it!! I’m horrible at decorating…probably need some help with my blog color pallette. Lol

    • Lynn 06/28/2017, 5:38 PM

I love that color, Julie! It’s very similar to the color of my bedroom and bathroom.

  • chei 06/28/2017, 3:03 PM

Oh these are great colors! But i would love to use the light blue because light blue looks heaven.

    • Lynn 06/28/2017, 5:36 PM

I love light blue too, Chei!

  • POOJA MITRA 06/29/2017, 7:01 AM

I love how the colours you have chosen are subtle. Even shades of blue. I an not a fan of loud colours myself.

    • Lynn 06/29/2017, 5:23 PM

      Thanks, Pooja

  • The Southern Thing 06/29/2017, 11:54 AM

      Thanks, Lindsay!

Navy and peach would be pretty accents for a kitchen done in the grays. Fun color choices! #HomeMattersParty

  • Melissa 07/02/2017, 3:57 PM
