Colors For a Boy’s Nursery: Monday Morning Color Watch #11

I’m often asked about colors palettes for the home and for websites and so I decided to create a series of colors that I hope will inspire you to find colors for your home or blog! As I’m sure you know, colors are very important when it comes to your home and DIY home decor projects; they can make or break a room!  Colors are equally important for your branding and website. Today I’m sharing colors for a baby boy’s nursery, inspired by my nephew.

Y’all there is no way I could do a post about a nursery for my niece last week and not do one for my nephew.  My sister would kill me!  He arrived into the world 5 weeks ago and I haven’t seen him yet (he’s in Houston), but I’m so excited!  This is the bad thing about living so far away from family.  When exciting things like this happen, you have to miss out!  E now has to share my #1 favorite guy spot with my nephew; I now have a 1a and a 1b!

Please note: Colors may appear different due to your monitor or mobile device color settings.

Using This Color Palette For a Boy’s Nursery

You’re probably thinking I would use the cream as the wall color right?  Nope.  I’d use the mint/light green.  It’s a calming color for the room to still provide that comfy, calm, soothing, and inviting feeling you’d want in a nursery.

This Graco convertible crib, the Charleston Convertible is a crib that will convert once he grows up.  I love that they make cribs like that these days.

Just as I did with my niece’s nursery, I’d add a decal about his crib too.  I’m a firm believer that what you speak into a child will come into existence so I only want good things around him!  I love this decal that is Psalm 139:14, “You are fearfully and wonderfully made” in dark blue.  I think that says it all!  My sister and brother-in-law gave him a great name.  His middle name means praised and I just love that.  I mean think about it, every time you call on him, you’re saying praised.  How cool is that?  This Noah’s Ark wall decal is a must!

I’d also have a white changing dresser station and a white dresser.  My friend’s who have children that are now grown up always say they wish they had more drawer space to place things. And of course, there has to be a white rocking chair to rock him back to sleep!

There would be linen colors of the blues and the greens to bring in the other colors as well as the other home decor pieces such as the lamps, throw blankets, pillows, and trash cans.

How would you incorporate these colors into a nursery or any other color in your home?

See ya later!

Loving these colors! Beautiful for a nursery. We used something similar for our kitchen remodel and I’m thinking a combination of these colors but maybe with bright white instead of cream when we redo the bathroom. Pinning for a reminder. 🙂

These are some good tips! My husband and I are flipping a house right now, so I’ll have to keep this in mind.

All fantastic choices. My favorite is the light blue and cream color. Any of these would be wonderful in a boys nursery…

I love these colors together!!!! They are so adorable! We did a light green with lots of bright accent toys and wall hangings for our second nursery. There are so many great options out there.

I’m a huge fan of gender-neutral colors for kids rooms, so I would actually use this for either of my girls! 🙂 I would definitely stick to the white furniture with this palette, as you mentioned.

Super that you didn’t use the cream for the wall but rather the mint green, love the tones, so warm and inviting. A room that would be great for a little guy but also peaceful and relaxing for mom as she rocks him to sleep!
