Colors for a Baby’s Nursery: Monday Morning Color Watch #4

I’m often asked about colors palettes for the home and for websites and so I decided to create a series of colors that I hope will inspire you to find colors for your home or blog! As I’m sure you know, colors are very important when it comes to your home and DIY home decor projects; they can make or break a room!  Colors are equally important for your branding and website. Today I want to share with you this soft and subtle color palette of blues.

This color palette for home and websites was inspired by my love of blue.  As much as I love bold and vibrant colors, baby blue is my favorite color!

Please note: Colors may appear different due to your monitor or mobile device color settings.

Colors for a baby nursery

  • Left color: Teal (hexadecimal code: #85baa1)
  • Middle color: blue-gray (hexadecimal code: #6e8894)
  • Right color: Light blue (hexadecimal code: #ceeddb)

Using this color palette for your home: Colors for a baby nursery

I so see this color palette in a bathroom.  It’s soft, it’s subtle, it’s soothing; all the things a bathroom should be!  I could also see this color palette in a nursery; regardless of the gender of the baby.  I would use the light blue for the walls and the teal and blue-gray for accent colors.

For the nursery, I think it would be super cool to take the blue-gray and the teal and create an accent wall of squares. I’m thinking even making a faux shiplap accent wall with the teal! Yes, I like shiplap.  The shiplap would also help to add some texture to the room.

Using this color palette for your website

All colors have meaning; did you know that?  Blues represents peace, trust, loyalty, and stability and so this would be a great color palette for those in the wellness and holistic industries.   A white and blue website would be relaxing and inviting.  If you’re a minimalist, this could be an option for you.

How would you use these colors in your home or your blog?  Which colors would you keep? Which would you change?  I’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas in the comments below!

See ya later!

I really like the non traditional colors you selected for a nursery. It adds more character and personality not only to the room but to the people that will be in that room or many, many months.

I love this color palette for a nursery! While I love bold colors too, I think that there’s something so calming and relaxing about having a color on the softer side in a room – especially a nursery!

I love color schematics. I think I’d definitely enjoy a color theory class. This is a neat series! I think it would be cool if you would include the emotional impact of each color too <3

    • Lynn 06/23/2017, 6:50 AM

Thanks for the suggestion, Elizabeth! I like colory theory a lot too!

  • Nicole 06/20/2017, 10:51 PM
