Colors For a Guest Bathroom: Monday Morning Color Watch #5

I’m often asked about colors palettes for the home and for websites and so I decided to create a series of colors that I hope will inspire you to find colors for your home or blog! As I’m sure you know, colors are very important when it comes to your home and DIY home decor projects; they can make or break a room!  Colors are equally important for your branding and website.

This color palette for your home or your blog was inspired by one of the guest bathrooms.  I’ve painted the bathroom (you can read about that and the frog that joined me) a deep purple and now it’s time to have fun with all the decorating!

Please note: Colors may appear different due to your monitor or mobile device color settings.

Colors:

  • First color: Plum (hexadecimal code: #210124)
  • Second color: Lavender (hexadecimal code: #dbcbd8)
  • Third color: White (hexadecimal code: #ffffff)
  • Fourth color: Blue (hexadecimal code: #355691)
  • Fifth color: White (hexadecimal code: #3f4045)

Using this color palette for your home: Colors for a guest bathroom

As I mentioned earlier, I painted the guest bathroom a deep rich purple.  I love the stark contrast with the purple and the white trim.  It really makes the purple pop even more!  I’ve been looking at shower curtains that have a mix of lavender, white, blue, and gray.  It sounds busy, but the ones I’ve found thus far look great!  I haven’t 100% decided on which one I will purchase, but I’ll share that in the room reveal once it’s done.

I’ll have white rugs in front of the sink and if I could find blue and lavender towels, that would be a major score!  A blue trash can, and lotion and hand soap pumps and some abstract wall art that pulls in all of the colors with a touch of silver would be fabulous.  Think I’ll head over to Home Goods, they have aisles and aisles of art.

To finish it off, I’ll get a blue vase with fresh, white hydrangeas.

Using this color palette for your website or blog

I think this would be such a fun color palette for a blog!  I’d keep the background white and use the purple and lavender as the underline for page titles or even the hover state on the navigation menu (or you could do that with the blue and gray).

The blue and gray (you could use the purple, but the lavender would be too light to read) I would use as my headings and combine all colors within the blog header to pull it all together!

How would you use these colors in your home or your blog?  Which colors would you keep? Which would you change?  I’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas in the comments below!

I painted my guest room lavender! Such a great color. It feels so serene in there. I contrasted it with a dark wood headboard and light linen.

I love the idea of painting a guest bathroom or even a half bathroom such an exciting color! It will definitely be memorable to guests and stand out from others.

So pretty! My daughter wants her room purple next time we paint and that shade of lavender is so lovely!

Oh fun! I remember when I was little everything had to be purple. I drove my Mom crazy!/

I have used a similar blue on walls in my boys’ room. It was probably one of my most bold paint color choices in my history, LOL. I loved it!
