Texas Inspired Living Room : Monday Morning Color Watch #13

I’m often asked about colors palettes for the home and for websites and so I decided to create a series of colors that I hope will inspire you to find colors for your home or blog! As I’m sure you know, colors are very important when it comes to your home and DIY home decor projects; they can make or break a room!  Colors are equally important for your branding and website. Today’s color palette and room decor ideas were inspired by my Texas roots for this Texas inspired living room.

A couple of months a go, I found a bench that was similar to the ones in my room mockup below and I still think about it to this day.  Crazy, right?  But, thank goodness for my mood board and my husband because I didn’t buy it.  Both brought me back to reality.  Where would I put it?  I had no idea.  What was it going to go with?  Absolutely nothing!

Please note: Colors may appear different due to your monitor or mobile device color settings.

Using This Color Palette For Your Living Room

With this room, I’d keep the walls white.  I plan on using prints in the room and having a neutral color as the base keeps the room from feeling closed in and busy.  The gold and brown will be used for the decor.  This is a somewhat monochromatic room, but I love the browns, print, and golds!  To me, white makes any color pop and the browns and prints in this living room definitely pop!  I love the faux hide rug and gold accents give the room a warm and comfy feel.

How would you incorporate these colors into your living room or any other room in your home?

Great set up Lynn! I am going to have to give that Olioboard another try. The large, wood, clock looks perfect above that white sofa!

Thanks, Lisa! I so adore that clock. I think I’m going to have to make one!

This is so cool Lynn. I love this gold. Usually I am not a fan of the shiny, yellow color but this is a rich gorgeous color that I am drawn too. Maybe this is my go to fall color?!?! Thanks for sharing!!!

    • Lynn 08/14/2017, 4:23 PM

Thanks, Wendy! This is definitely one of my colors for this Fall.

I love these colors! The guest room in my last house had similar colors. It was movie themed, so the red for the curtains and the gold just went so well. We had a Wall-E poster and original Mickey Mouse poster that went perfectly with the colors.

Stephanie, that sounds like such a great and fun room!

Great info! I am very confused in terms of colours for the home…I guess to me is more related to the style and the feeling I would like to have walking in a room…probably for the living, I would go for a creamy/light colour but too bright…:)
